Thailand's Thaworn Wiratchant won his first European Senior Tour title at the MCB Tour Championship on Sunday after a superb final-round of 10-under-par 62 in Mauritius. Thaworn, who was joint-overnight leader with Australia's Peter Fowler, had a three-day total of 23-under 193 and defeated Ireland's Mark McNulty by eight strokes. To win in my first year on the Senior Tour is fantastic as there are so many good players here," said Thaworn. The 50-year-old, who was the second Thai to win on the European Senior Tour after Boonchu Ruangkit, moved up to finish ninth on the money list with €136,878 from seven tournaments. Apart from being given a one-year exemption to play on the tour, Thaworn will also be eligible to play at the US Senior PGA Championship and British Senior Open.
